TOP DAMPER

Upgrade to Top Closing Dampers: A Lifetime Warranty

When your internal damper malfunctions, we offer a solution by installing top closing dampers, which come with a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. Unlike traditional dampers, which are positioned in the “throat” of a fireplace and built directly into it, our top closing dampers represent a superior, modern alternative.

Traditional dampers are typically constructed from cast iron and housed within a simple, low-tech framework. (Click on the picture to enlarge.)

Upgrade to Top Closing Chimney Dampers: Energy Efficiency and Savings

Traditional cast-iron dampers are notorious for their poor sealing capabilities, as they feature a leaky, rough metal-to-metal connection. This design allows precious heat from your home to escape up your chimney flue, resulting in significant energy and heat loss during the colder months. It’s essentially like watching your hard-earned money vanish up the chimney.

Enter Top Closing Chimney Dampers—a game-changer in energy efficiency. These dampers feature a rubber gasket that creates a tight, airtight seal every time you close it. This eliminates drafts and ensures that your money stays where it belongs—in your pocket, rather than escaping up the chimney.

In addition to energy savings, top closing dampers also act as a barrier against rain and unwanted critters when closed. Positioned at the top of your chimney, they are equipped with a steel cable running through the flue and a convenient bulb and latch release system at the fireplace opening. Operating them is a breeze—simply pull the bulb down to open or release it to close. (Click on the thumbnails below to view larger images.)

You can easily operates it from inside your firebox. Below is an instructional video on how to use a top closing damper.

Customized Top Closing Damper Installation

To provide you with an accurate price, including installation, for a top closing damper on your chimney, our team needs to visit your location and measure the top opening of your chimney. This step ensures that we determine the correct damper size that will fit perfectly. Additionally, we’ll assess whether your chimney has a flue tile at the top—a prerequisite for proper top closing damper installation.

In cases where your chimney lacks a flue tile at the top, we’ll also include a bid for the installation of a flue tile and crown to ensure a comprehensive and effective solution.

PLEASE NOTE, DAMPERS ARE NOT RETURNABLE. IF YOU ORDER A DAMPER TO BE INSTALLED BY US,
YOU MUST COMMIT TO IT AS IT HAS TO BE PREPAID FOR AND SHIPPED FROM THE EAST COAST.

WE ONLY INSTALL DAMPERS. WE DO NOT SELL DAMPERS RETAIL.

THE TOP CLOSING DAMPERS ARE COVERED BY A MANUFACTURER’S LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY. IT COVERS THE DAMPER SO LONG AS THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER RESIDES OR OWNS THE HOME IT IS INSTALLED ON ONLY. IT IS NOT TRANSFERABLE BETWEEN NEW HOMEOWNERS OR LOCATIONS.
